Braves odds

The Atlanta Braves are coming off an 8-7 loss to the Mets last night. They are now 6-3 on the young season. We started tracking our Braves picks at the start of the Diamondbacks series and after last night, we are 8-0. Last night was the first time we didn’t pick the Braves Moneyline and it worked out.

Tonight, the Braves look to get back in the “win” column against Adrian Houser and the Mets.

The Braves will send Reynaldo Lopez to the mound to make his second start with Atlanta. It will be his first start in front of the home crowd at Truist Park.

The game is scheduled for 7:20 PM EST.

Braves fans can watch on Bally Sports South or listen on 680 AM or 93.7 FM locally.

Atlanta Braves Hitters vs. Adrian Houser

Adrian Houser’s last two starts against the Braves have not gone well, to say the least. He has given up nine earned runs on 14 hits and four walks in 10.0 innings. Braves hitters are hitting .311 against Houser in 90 career at-bats.

Ronald Acuna Jr. vs. Adrian Houser

Ronald Acuna Jr. has a nice opportunity to get his bat going tonight. In 12 career at-bats against Houser, Acuna has a .583 average with six singles, a double, and a walk.

Ozzie Albies vs. Adrian Houser

Ozzie Albies has 14 at-bats against Houser with a .375 OBP and a .286 average. He only has one extra-base hit, a double.

Austin Riley vs. Adrian Houser

Austin Riley has the most at-bats against Houser of any Braves hitter with 16. He also has a .375 average with 1 HR and 6 RBI vs. Houser.

Braves vs. Mets Spread and Moneyline (04/09/2024)

The Braves are favored (-1.5) with +105 odds. They have -198 odds on the Moneyline.

Talkin’ Tomahawk’s Picks for Braves vs. Mets (04/09/2024)

We are 8-0 in our last eight picks! Let’s keep it rolling tonight.

The bullpen has been used an awful lot lately and last night they finally cracked. Reynaldo Lopez is just making his second start after converting from a reliever. In his first start we went 6.0 innings on 82 pitches with 5 strikeouts.

Lopez’s o/u on strikeouts is just 4.5. The Mets have only struck out 7.9 times per game. Charlie Morton only got 4 Mets to strikeout last night on 5.2 innings. I’m avoiding any of the pitcher props tonight.

Talkin’ Tomahawk’s Pick: Austin Riley’s line on hits is 0.5. With his track record against Houser, I like his chances for a hit here at -290.

If you want to increase the risk, Riley’s odds for a homer are +500.

Braves Parlay of the Day

Parlay Pick: Riley Hit + Acuna SB + Lopez 3+ Ks (+310)

Acuna has not stolen a base in eight games. Last year, the longest he went without a stolen base was six games. It’s happening. I’m comfortable with 3 Ks from Lopez and we’ll add in Riley’s track record against Houser.
