Ronald Acuna Jr. News: Ronald Acuna Jr. is getting left behind the rest of the Braves offense. Acuna went 0-3, lowering his average to .222 on the season. The reigning NL MVP has a .611 OPS through the first nine games. He is slugging just .278 with two extra-base hits in 36 at-bats.

Talkin’ Tomahawk’s Take: Nine games is a very small sample size, it can amplify a bad stretch when it comes at the start of the season. Acuna did work two walks and scored a run in last night’s game. Acuna entered the night leading the team in strikeouts with 13. He did not add to that total in last night’s game.

It’s hard to predict when Acuna will bust out of this funk exactly, but we think it will be very soon. It isn’t as if he hasn’t had a good game. On April 5th in the Braves’ thrilling 9-8 comeback victory over the Diamondbacks, Acuna had a key hit to drive in the go-ahead run while scoring two runs of his own.

Acuna and the Braves will look to bounce back from the tough loss last night as the Mets send Adrian Houser to the mound tonight. Acuna is hitting .583 off of Hauser in 12 career at-bats.

RAJ is still looking for his first homer and hasn’t stolen a base since Opening Day. He’s due.
