The Atlanta Braves will welcome the Miami Marlins to Truist Park on Monday night at 7:20 pm ET. The Braves have called up 2023 All-Star Bryce Elder to make the start. The Marlins will send left-hander Ryan Weathers to the hill against the Braves.

Bryce Elder vs. Marlins Hitters

Bryce Elder has racked up seven career starts against the Marlins with the last coming on 09/15/2023. In those seven starts he has 40 strikeouts in 40 innings pitched with a 3.38 ERA.

Hitters on the current roster for the Marlins have hit Elder pretty hard. Collectively, the Marlins hitters are slashing .266/.309/.688 (.996 OPS). Marlins batters have teed off on the right-hander with seven home runs, four doubles, and a triple in 64 at-bats.

Luis Arraez is 2-9 with a homer and an RBI of Bryce Elder.

Josh Bell is 1-8 with a solo home run off Elder.

Jazz Chisolm Jr. is just 1-11 but his “one” was a homer. Chisolm has also struck out four times in 11 at-bats against Bryce.

Bryan De La Cruz has four hits (including a homer) in just eight at-bats.

Avisail Garcia has a homer in eight at-bats.

Emmanuel Rivera homered in his only at-bat and also has a walk.

Jesus Sanchez is hitting .333 off Bryce Elder with a homer, two doubles, and a triple in just 12 at-bats.

Why Bryce Elder could have a solid outing vs. Marlins tonight

The Marlins are really struggling. They are 27th in the league in runs scored per game. Ryan Weathers is no lock to give the Fish the advantage in the starting pitching matchup. Elder is motivated after falling off a cliff in the second half of the 2023 season. He is off to a good start in Gwinnett with 18 strikeouts in 16.1 innings and a 3.31 ERA.

The Marlins are just 6-17 on the season after their victory over the Cubs today. The Braves are 14-6.

First pitch is at 7:20 pm ET and can be seen on Bally Sports South. You can listen on 680 AM/93.7 FM The Fan.
