Marcell Ozuna is has extended his hitting streak to 11 games in tonight’s game against the Miami Marlins. Ozuna, a former Marlin, earned his hit in the top of the fourth inning off of Trevor Rogers. Ozuna ripped a 3-1 fastball to left field at 104.8 mph. As of this writing, Ozuna has gone 1-2 today and raised his average to .333 on the season with a .373 OBP and a .688 SLG.

The Big Bear is hitting .406 in the month of April. In addition to the impressive hit streak, Ozuna has four homers, 10 RBI, and seven runs scored on the month. Ozuna is no stranger to hit streaks. He had a 13-game hit streak last season for the Braves. In 2013, he set the mark for the second-longest hitting streak by a Marlins rookie with 16.

(9:44 PM) Update on Ozuna: The man won’t stop! Not only did Ozuna add a homer to his resume for the evening, it was the second-hardest hit homer of his career. The homer was recorded at 114.6 mph off his bat. This is an impressive feat for a guy who is known for being one of the hardest hitting batters in all of baseball. He is now slashing .360/.407/.760 on the season.

Ozuna now has six homers on the season, tying him for the league lead.
