The Braves are favored (-1.5) with +112 odds. They have -185 odds on the Moneyline. I really like the Braves in this matchup. I have avoided the Moneyline the past couple of games and that has helped lead us to an 11-0 record on our picks this season. The Marlins are averaging 3.62 runs per game while the Braves lead the league with 6.64. Let’s get into the matchup a little more and then we’ll give you our picks for the day.

Atlanta Braves Hitters vs. Trevor Richards

Trevor Rogers has had one good season which came in 2021. Since then he has a 5.27 ERA in 135 innings. Braves hitters are slashing .263/.333/.505 against Richards.

Travis d’Arnaud is 5-11 with a home run vs. Trevor Richards

Tromp got the start yesterday so it seems likely d’Arnaud will be back in the lineup today, as he should. This is a great matchup for TDA. He is hitting .455 with three doubles, a homer, and two runs batted in against Richards. It’s a small sample size, but it’s good stuff.

I really like the odds on a d’Arnaud hit today at +230.

Ronald Acuna Jr. is hitting .500 against Trevor Richards

In 12 PAs against Richards, Acuna has four walks, four hits, two doubles, a homer, and three runs batted in. Ronald Acuna Jr. has been swinging the bat well lately. He’s going to get some hard hits to go his way and he’s going to get that first homer soon. Acuna is getting on base in this game. He’s going to get a steal, as well. This may be an over on total bases + a steal parlay of some sort. We’ll iron that out in our picks section.

Max Fried vs. Marlins Hitters

On paper, this isn’t a great matchup for Fried. In 50 at-bats, Marlins hitters are batting .300 with a .480 slugging percentage against Max Fried. In two games vs. the Marlins last season, Fried gave up just one earned run in 11.0 innings with 11 strikeouts.

The Marlins hitters might be batting .300 off of Max Fried collectively but this is one of those games where an ace stops the bleeding… like an Ace bandage. The Braves are coming off of a hideous 16-4 loss to the Mets. Atlanta lost two out of three against the scuffling Mets, as well. The Braves need to turn it around today and they will do it with their anchor, their captain, their ace of the past few years. Will the real Max Fried please stand up?

I want to get in on the Max Fried action somehow but betting the over on his strikeouts is hit or miss. Last season he had six or more strikeouts in four of his seven quality starts. The line is set at 5.5 strikeouts for Fried today. I will roll my confidence in Fried over to a Braves win on the Moneyline.
