Braves’ New Play-by-Play Announcer, Brandon Gaudin Grew up a Fan, Wrote Skip Caray a Letter as a Child, and is the Voice of Madden

Brandon Gaudin once wrote a letter to Skip Caray asking how to get into sports broadcasting. Now, he will replace his son as the voice of the Atlanta Braves.

Bally Sports South has announced that Brandon Gaudin will replace Chip Caray as the play-by-play announcer during Atlanta Braves broadcasts. Chip Caray left the Braves for the St. Louis Cardinals on January 30th.

Gaudin has been the play-by-play announcer for the Madden video game series since 2017. In addition to being the voice of Madden, Gaudin boasts an impressive real-life resume.

For the past seven years, Brandon Gaudin has called play-by-play for Fox Sports and the Big Ten Network. He has covered Major League Baseball, the NFL, and College Football. More specifically, he has called the NCAA Men’s Basketball tournament on Westwood One and been the radio voice of Butler’s men’s basketball, and Georgia Tech Football.

Brandon Gaudin Grew up a True Fan of the Atlanta Braves

Brandon Gaudin is a native of Evansville, Indiana – which is my neck of the woods! Like myself, Gaudin grew up in Evansville, Indiana as a Braves fan. This is likely because of the long arm of TBS when we were kids.

At 13, Brandon Gaudin Wrote Skip Caray a Letter

He had such a passion, at age 13 he wrote a letter to Skip Caray asking how to break into sports broadcasting. Now, at just 39-years-old, Gaudin will replace Skip Caray’s son as the lead play-by-play announcer for the Atlanta Braves.

“Today is the realization of a childhood dream,” said Gaudin. “I get to be behind the mic for the team I grew up idolizing. And the team who fostered my love for both sports and broadcasting. I’m grateful to both the Braves and Bally Sports for this incredible opportunity. I cannot wait to work alongside this team and talented broadcast crew.”

He would go back to see the Atlanta Braves in the World Series again in 1992 and 1995.
