The Atlanta Braves have won seven of their past eight. Bryce Elder and company shut the Marlins out on Monday night. The Braves will send Max Fried to the bump on Tuesday to try and continue the momentum. The Marlins will send Trevor Rogers to the mound.
Rogers is 0-2 on the season. The lefty has a 3.92 ERA over 20.2 IP with 20 SO.
Trevor Rogers vs. Braves Hitters
Rogers is 0-6 in eight starts against Atlanta with a 5.70 ERA. Current Braves hitters have a .854 OPS vs. Rogers.
Ronald Acuna Jr. is 5-11 with a homer, two doubles, and four walks off of Rogers.
Travis d’Arnaud is hitting .462 in 13 ABs with a homer and four doubles. Add that to the fact that d’Arnaud is the hottest hitter on the planet over the past few days and you might have a player prop bet waiting to happen.
Matt Olson, Marcell Ozuna, and Austin Riley have combined to go 8-43 (.186 avg) off of Rogers with two homers.
The Atlanta Braves are among the league leaders in most offensive categories this season. They are the only team to average more than six runs per game. The Marlins entered tonight at 3.70 runs per game (25th in MLB) before Bryce Elder and the Braves shut them out.
Momentum is clearly in the Braves favor right now and there doesn’t seem to be anything opposing pitching staffs can do.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:20 pm ET.
