Ronald Acuna Jr. has raised his batting average to .299 after racking up two more hits in the 6-4 loss to the Texas Rangers on Sunday night. Acuna went 2-4 with two runs scored. Acuna now has a hit in nine of his last 11 games.

After seeing his average drop to .222 on 04/08, Acuna has been on a tear. He has racked up 15 hits in the past 12 games to bring his average back up to .299.

Acuna’s OBP is up to .419 which is good for seventh in Major League Baseball. He is right behind brothers Willson Contreras at #5 and William Contreras at #6.

Acuna has just one homer on the season and is only slugging .390 but he is getting on base with the best of them. His nine steals have him one behind the league lead. There is a three-way tie for first place. Elly De La Cruz, Lane Thomas, and Brice Turang all have 10 stolen bases on the season.

Acuna is currently second in the league in runs scored with 21. He is three behind Mookie Betts but has played four fewer games than Betts. Acuna has 19 runs in 20 games this season.

Despite lack of home runs and slugging, Acuna is hitting the ball hard

Acuna is doing everything expected of him this season except crush homers. The homers will come. Acuna is in the 84th percentile in hard-hit percentile and in the 72nd percentile in average exit velocity. His max exit velocity of 113.2 mph is still top 6% in the league.

Don’t worry about his power. It’s coming.

In the meantime, Acuna has been playing great baseball for the Braves. He’s been getting on base, wreaking havoc on the basepaths, and scoring runs in bunches.
