Atlanta Braves News: Marcell Ozuna kept his hit streak alive the past two nights with ninth-inning hits. Today he wasted no time against the Astros. Ozuna clobbered his 8th homer of the year off J.P. France in the top of the second inning. The homer tied Ozuna for his career-long hit streak at 16 games. The solo blast was also a crucial run in the Braves 5-4 win in the tenth inning to seal the sweep against Houston.
Ozuna now leads the major leagues in homers (8), RBI (23), and is fourth in OPS (1.135). Ozuna entered today’s game hitting .364 compared to the .078 he had after 16 games last season. His current OBP of .403 is about the same as his OPS was after 16 games last year (.405).
As we’ve noted on multiple occasions, Ozuna has been one of the best hitters in all of baseball since May 1st of last season. He has picked up steam in the beginning of 2024. Ozuna has taken to the DH role and utilized his time wisely. He spends his down time studying film and sharing advice with teammates.
Judging by the fact that the “Big Bear” has been one of the best bats in baseball for the past year, I’m assuming he shares wonderful advice…just like another big famous bear.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong in the comments, but I believe it was Ozuna who helped Matt Olson get his swing straightened out after a slow start in Atlanta.
