The Atlanta Braves are coming off a clean sweep of the Diamondbacks and we are coming off of a clean sweep of our picks over those games. We went 7-0 on our picks in the Diamondbacks series. We hope the Braves and our picks continue the momentum tonight as the Braves welcome the Mets to Truist Park.

The Mets DFA’d one former Braves pitcher to make room for another. They DFA’d Michael Tonkin and signed Julio Teheran to a one-year deal just two days ago.

The Braves can’t win every game, but they lead the league in batting average and slugging percentage already. Meanwhile, the Mets are dead last slugging at .290. In fact, their slugging percentage is lower than the Braves batting average. The Mets have been awful.

Atlanta Braves Hitters vs. Julio Teheran

Julio Teheran averaged just 89.8 mph last season. The Braves have a really good track record against him. Collectively, the Braves are slashing .271/.304/.457 in 129 at-bats. He has allowed six homers in 129 at-bats to Braves hitters.

Marcell Ozuna vs. Julio Teheran

Ozuna has the longest track record against Julio Teheran. He also has the most success. In 54 at-bats, Ozuna has a .352 average with a .630 slugging percentage. He has four of the Braves’ six homers off of Teheran.

Charlie Morton vs. Mets Hitters

Mets batters have racked up 194 at-bats against Charlie Morton. They are slashing .222/.291/.345 against him. They have five homers and 59 strikeouts.

Marcell Ozuna has an average exit velocity of 91.5 mph so far this season. Unlike last year, he is off to a scorching hot start. He is on a seven-game hitting streak and has a long track record of success against Teheran. Julio Teheran doesn’t throw hard and doesn’t walk a lot of guys. He stays in the zone and that could be dangerous against Marcell Ozuna right now.

I like Marcell Ozuna over 0.5 hits at -255.

We are all rooting for Charlie Morton tonight. But Charlie has a tendency to get loose and even though his total numbers looked good against the Mets last season thanks to a spectacular 7.0 inning, 11 strikeout outing, he had mixed results. The bullpen was taxed during the Diamondbacks series thanks to short outings by Strider and Fried. I’ll probably put a smaller wager on the Braves moneyline but I’m not including it in our official picks today.

Again, the Ronald Acuna Jr. parlay is always fun. He’s really overdue for a homer or a steal. You can take that either way. If you go with the steal, I like the steal + run parlay.
