Ronald Acuna Jr. has started the season slow. While the Braves offense is on fire, leading the league in batting average and slugging percentage, their reigning NL MVP is hitting just .242 with no homers and one steal. Through eight games, Acuna has a 75 OPS+ and a .303 slugging percentage. After drastically reducing his strikeouts in 2023, he’s off to a rough start in 2024 striking out in 35% of his plate appearances.

Acuna looks to turn things around tonight as the Mets come to Atlanta to begin a four-game set. Former Braves pitcher Julio Teheran will start for the Mets. Acuna has four hits in six career at-bats vs. Teheran with one homer and two RBI.
