The Atlanta Braves dropped to 25-12 with a loss to the Boston Red Sox tonight.
Atlanta Braves Pitching
Dylan Lee started for the Braves as the opener. Lee went 2.2 IP with zero earned runs and three strikeouts, not allowing a hit. In fact, Lee only gave up one base runner due to a walk.
Collin McHugh gave up two earned runs in 1.1 IP in relief of Dylan Lee. McHugh allowed three hits and a walk, raising his season ERA to 3.38. McHugh was followed by Danny Young and Jesse Chavez, who both pitched scoreless fourth and fifth innings. Young has looked very good in his two appearances since being recalled.
AJ Minter’s struggles continued as he was only able to get one out in the seventh inning while allowing a run on two walks. His ERA is now at a hefty 7.50.
Nick Anderson relieved Minter and covered 1.2 scoreless innings only to give way to Raisel Iglesias who couldn’t get out of the ninth, only recording two outs and allowing two runs on three hits.
Atlanta Braves Hitting
Ronald Acuna Jr. went 2-4 with a sixth-inning monster 470 ft. home run.
Travis d’Arnaud made his triumphant return to the lineup and went 1-3 with a walk, bringing his average to .333.
Other Notes
Former Braves closer Kenly Jansen sealed the win for the Red Sox, locking down his 400th career save. Jansen is just the seventh pitcher to ever hit the 400-save mark.
