The Atlanta Braves throwback City Connect gear has everyone talking this season. They didn’t want to sacrifice the look of the 1974 uniforms, the year Hank Aaron hit his 715th home run. The Braves elected to design their City Connect uniforms as an homage to the ’74 style and to Hammerin’ Hank.
The Braves wear the City Connect uniforms every Saturday home game throughout the 2023 season. This design is on a four-year cycle, meaning the Braves won’t be asked to choose a new one until after the 2026 season.
The design has a lot of meaning and symbolism to it. The large A on the front breast represents “For the A.”
The overall throwback to 1974 represents Hank Aaron breaking Babe Ruth’s career home run record.
The crown on the sleeves acknowledge Hank Aaron as the home run king.
A portion of all proceeds go to the Henry Louis Aaron Fund.
