Atlanta Braves: Vaughn Grissom to Replace Arcia, Morton Set to Make Third Start

The Atlanta Braves enter their fifth series of the season with a 9-4 record, good for first place in the NL East. After an off day yesterday, we get a fun Friday evening full of Braves baseball as Charlie Morton takes the mound against Brady Singer and the Kansas City Royals.

Charlie Morton has gone at least five innings in each of his first two starts, allowing five total runs and five walks. Morton comes into Friday with a 4.35 ERA with one win and one loss.

After two starts, Charlie Morton has shown he still has one of the nastiest curveballs in the game. His curve spin rate ranks among the 95th-percentile and his fastball velocity rates around the top third of the league.

Brady Singer comes into tonight’s game with a 1-0 record in two starts and a 4.91 ERA on the young season.

Atlanta Braves History Against Brady Singer

The Braves don’t have a ton of career at-bats against Singer, outside of Eddie Rosario. Eddie Rosario is hitting .364 with one homer in 11 at-bats against Singer. Make sure Eddie is in your Draftkings lineups tonight.

Sean Murphy is 2-2 in his career against Singer.

Atlanta Braves to call up Vaughn Grissom

The Braves are calling up Vaughn Grissom to replace Orlando Arcia during his IL stint. Arcia was hit in the wrist by a 98 mph Hunter Greene fastball on Wednesday. He only suffered a microfracture and is lucky it wasn’t worse.

Through 10 games in Gwinnett, Grissom has put up some incredible numbers. He has five extra-base hits (1 HR, 2 2B, & 2 3B), two stolen bases, and six walks. Grissom is slashing .366/.458/.585 through 48 plate appearances. Hopefully he will bring the hot hand with him to the big club and prevent the Braves from missing a beat with the red-hot Arcia on the shelf.
