Atlanta Braves News: Grant Holmes gave up a home run on a hanging curveball to Junior Caminero in his first inning of the spring.

He opened his second inning by making quick work of Kameron Misner to start the fourth inning. He induced a weak grounder to Eli White at second base for a quick second out in the fourth inning. Then, concluded his outing with one pitch out to Palacios, who hit one right to Michael Harris II.

Holmes hopes to earn a spot in the rotation to start the season with Atlanta. Like Ian Anderson, Holmes is out of options and will most likely begin the season on the big league roster. The current rotation projects to be Chris Sale, Reynaldo Lopez, Spencer Schwellenbach, Grant Holmes, and Ian Anderson.

Grant Holmes Spent 10 Years in Minors Until 2024

After 10 years in the minor leagues, Grant Holmes made his major league debut with the Braves in 2024. He logged 68.1 innings in the big leagues (including seven starts), posting a 3.56 ERA, 70 strikeouts, and a 1.185 WHIP.

Since Holmes and Anderson are the favorites to break camp with the Braves, the real battle begins to see who will hang around once Spencer Strider returns.

How will Holmes work out in the rotation for Atlanta this year? Let us know in the comments.
