What is the difference between 1987 Topps and 1987 Topps Tiffany?

You may have noticed that two 1987 Topps cards look very similar. The difference between the two is the white cardstock used to print the Tiffany versions of the 1987 Topps cards. The Tiffany cards are worth a lot more money than the standard set. They are higher quality and rarer.

In the images above, the Tiffany version of the Greg Maddux rookie card has a brighter look. This is due to the high-quality white cardstock used to print the Tiffany cards.

The Tiffany cards also have a glossy finish, which the standard set does not have. The standard set has the words “PRTN IN U.S.A.” printed on them while the Tiffany cards do not.

Tiffany Cards were released between 1984 and 1991 and called Collector’s Edition. Collectors later called them “Tiffany.”

WARNING: Many sellers mistakenly (or on purpose) list their standard cards as Tiffany cards online. Don’t be fooled!
