Final Score: Atlanta Braves-4, Athletics-5

Braves Player of the Game

Ozzie Albies, whose home run put the Braves up 4-3 at the time.

My Thoughts: The Braves battled hard, but this will go down as another series loss for the Braves. Spencer Strider pitched a good game after the first inning, where he gave up 3 Runs. Extra Innings are always dicey when you’re playing Manfred ball with a runner starting on second each inning with no outs. The Braves have struggled to string together wins, and this will likely make the trade deadline in Atlanta very interesting. The Braves need to maintain their consistency, and hopefully, that consistency will lead to a string of wins. If the Braves can win the series against the Cardinals, they will head back home for All-Star week with some momentum and something to build off of after a few days off.

Next Up:

The Braves head into St Louis for the final 3-game series before the All-Star festivities begin in Atlanta. Who the Braves will send to the bump is undecided. The Cardinals will send out Mathew Liberatore. First pitch is scheduled for 8:15 PM EST.
