The Atlanta Braves have had their share of bullpen issues this season. Raisel Iglesias has not looked like himself, and whenever the Braves have tried to turn to Pierce Johnson, it hasn’t worked out. Meanwhile, Dylan Lee has been a source of stability for the Atlanta bullpen.

Dylan Lee has quietly turned into one of the most reliable left-handed relievers in the league over the past two seasons. Here’s how he stacks up against elite late-inning arms and a breakdown of his clutch outing on June 23 vs. the Mets.

Dylan Lee’s Performance (2024–2025)

2024

  • 52 appearances, 59.2 IP
  • 2.11 ERA
  • 2.6 BB/9
  • 11.5 SO/9
  • 1.11 WHIP

2025

  • 36 appearances, 35.2 IP
  • 1.77 ERA
  • 2.0 BB/9
  • 9.3 SO/9
  • 0.813 WHIP

Over the past two seasons combined, Dylan Lee has the 10th-best reliever ERA at 1.98 (min. 40 IP). Among that same grouping of data, Lee has the 27th-best strikeout percentage with 30.4% of batters faced going down to the sound of the ump’s muffled shouting and theatrics.

Lee keeps the walk-rate elite, having allowed just 6.7% of batters faced to reach base on four balls. His K%-BB%, which shows the gap between strikeout-rate and walk-rate, is the 20th best in the league over the past two years.

Dylan Lee’s Clutch Performance vs. Mets (06/23/2025)

Amidst Atlanta’s closer struggles, Lee has finally emerged as an option to hold down the end of the game. At first, Brian Snitker stuck with Raisel Iglesias as his ERA ballooned throughout the first two and a half months of the season. Then, Snit tried to turn to Pierce Johnson a couple times but he would blow it when he was given the opportunity.

Lee had a clutch opportunity in a crucial June 23rd matchup with the Mets and he delivered. He got four outs, and it included a clutch AB against Juan Soto.

The save broke a 31-game “save-less” streak. That’s 31-consecutive games without the team earning a save.

Final Take

Dylan Lee has proven himself as one of the elite lefty relievers in baseball. His ERA, WHIP, strikeout-to-walk ratio, and ability to deliver in tight, late-game situations put him in the same class as the league’s top bullpen arms. If Iglesias continues to falter in the 9th inning, Lee might take the job all to himself. Until then, he remains a superb southpaw option anchoring the bullpen down in Atlanta.
